Nominations to serve on our governing boards are open! All active members* are asked to consider using their time, talent, experience, and expertise to lead Mayflower UCC's work and ministry through board service. This congregation believes you know where you can best use your gifts and graces to benefit the whole congregation, so we need you to nominate yourself!
- All board members serve 3 year terms.
- All boards meet on the 4th Sunday of the month after worship.
- Childcare & snacks are provided during board meetings.
*An Active Member has officially joined the church, attends church or church activities when possible, joins in the work and mission of the church as they choose, and returns a pledge card indicating some level of support for the Operating Fund.
The Board of Trustees - More than just numbers and spreadsheets, this board does the vital work of discerning faithful stewardship of assets, real and personal property, and the financial affairs of the church, and communicating that information to the congregation.
The Music Board - This board works to enhance, promote, and oversee Mayflower's music ministry by supporting our Director of Music and the rest of the music staff in their work to draw us more deeply into worship and strengthen our bonds as a gathered body.
The Board of Deacons - These are our congregation’s captains of hospitality, ensuring that everyone receives our widest welcome, whether in-person or online. Our deacons assist our clergy with communion, ensure all members are connected to our missions and ministry, and make sure we live into our commitment for the building is used as a community space for recovery, grief support, and the common good.
The Board of Christian Education - Faith formation for all ages is a hallmark of this congregation, and this board provides support and energy for our Christian Ed programs alongside the leadership of our Director of Faith Formation and Director of Youth Ministry.
The Benevolence Board - Focusing on meeting basic needs in our community, this board distributes the funds designated by the congregation for benevolence purposes.
