Sunday School for all ages
is from 9 to 9:50am.
Aside from the weekly Sunday School classes, Mayflower also offers workshops and classes presented by clergy, lay leaders, and other community leaders. Current offerings for those are available in the Events tab of the app and are on the website.
Children

Mayflower Christian Education operates on the principle that children are instinctively spiritual. With that, questions are embraced, and we believe children should grow naturally into an awareness of their own religious tradition without fear or exclusion. We believe, just like with adults, that the most important thing we can teach our kids is how to live lives based on values like love, compassion and generosity

Children not yet in kindergarten and under are cared for by paid childcare staff in the nursery and young child room at the west end of the Christian Education wing in Classroom SJ. The nursery and young child room are staffed from 8:45am-12:15pm.

Students in kindergarten through fifth grade meet together in Classroom 2. The Sunday School curriculum explores stories, themes, and the Bible through art, theater, science, games, relationship building, and community service.

Kids in Community
During the worship service, the 10 am hour, students in Kindergarten through fifth grade participate in the service with the congregation before moving to Milligan Hall for the Kids in Community time. (This happens during the sermon through the end of the worship service.) There, students engage in a brief activity that helps students connect to themselves, each other, their community, and/or God. Each week varies and activities range from storytelling, art projects, science experiments, community service and activism projects, games, social-emotional learning, relationship building, and asking questions and problem solving. Kids in Community regularly participates in the full worship service as well, particularly on Sundays where communion is served or other special worship services. For those Sundays, students are invited to sit in the front pews - it helps everyone see what is happening! - and there are printed copies of the bulletin and paper available for drawing for students to engage with the service.

Youth - SOLACE
SOLACE, Mayflower’s Youth Group, meets every Sunday for fellowship at 9 am and every other Wednesday night in The Haven for fun, food, and fellowship. Students in 6th through 12th grades engage in mission, activities, and relationship building as they learn to reflect God's love in the world around them. Students are actively involved with engaging curriculum designed in series formats, usually encompassing several weeks of instruction, involvement, and goofy games.

Seekers/ Freethinkers
The purpose of this class is to search together for answers to life’s important questions. The class is led internally and discusses a wide range of topics from blogs, webinars, books and current events. The class has initiated projects and supported ongoing activities such as VOICE that attempt to put discussion into action. The class meets in the “Seekers Room” in the NE corner of Milligan Hall and online via Zoom.

What's Different
The Wednesday Evening Book Study (WEBS) meets every Wednesday evening between 5:45 pm and 7pm in the Seekers Room and online via Zoom. (The “Seekers Room” is in the NE corner of Milligan Hall). WEBS generally selects a book by vote and then everyone reads the book together and discusses the book at the Wednesday evening meeting. WEBS always has lively discussions!
